Dr. Layman will provide insight about the past, present and future of protein in the American diet as dietary guidelines evolve from the Food Guide Pyramid to MyPlate. The presentation will examine the new research about optimum dietary protein for muscle health and performance and how new concepts about the optimum amount and quality of protein at each meal are re-shaping meal patterns.
